Dragonwilds Runite Locations & Mining Guide

Prepare to find Runite in Dragonwilds 1.0, learn the confirmed Scorned Wilderness source, Mining requirements to verify, and an efficient launch-day route.

Last updated: 2026-09-04

Runite arrives with the Scorned Wilderness in Dragonwilds 1.0 on September 15, 2026. It is not available in version 0.12.1. Jagex confirms the region's “race for runite” and Rune armour progression, but has not published exact ore coordinates or a complete recipe list.

Where will Runite be found?

Runite is confirmed as a Scorned Wilderness resource. Precise node locations, respawn behaviour, tool requirements, spell interactions, and yield are not yet official. Any prerelease map claiming a complete route should be treated as provisional.

This page will map verified nodes after 1.0 launches. Until then, prepare the systems needed to discover and mine them efficiently.

Runite preparation checklist

  • Raise Mining and review the live level-99 skill tree.
  • Carry the best repaired pickaxe available before 1.0.
  • Unlock current Mining spells and place them consistently on the spell wheel.
  • Bring repair materials, food, runes, and a second combat range.
  • Keep inventory space for ore, quest items, and unfamiliar drops.
  • Activate every safe travel point encountered in the new region.
  • Mark nodes on the map instead of relying on memory during the first route.

Efficient launch-day route

On the first visit, follow the main Scorned Wilderness progression until the region teaches its traversal and checkpoint rules. Record safe nodes before trying to optimise ore per minute. A longer route that preserves equipment and supplies is better than a short route through an unrecoverable combat section.

After discovering several nodes, compare:

  1. travel time from the nearest checkpoint;
  2. enemies and Kuldra pressure along the route;
  3. tool durability consumed per trip;
  4. ore gained with and without Mining spells;
  5. safe inventory capacity after food and combat supplies.

What is Runite used for?

Rune armour is the confirmed core melee progression. Other tools, weapons, stations, and recipe costs must be verified in the released crafting menus. Do not pre-commit rare Ascension materials or destroy Adamant equipment based on an assumed Rune recipe.

For current materials, use the resource locations guide. For the new region, start with the Scorned Wilderness guide.
