Jagex raised existing skill caps to 99 in version 0.11, while later updates continue filling out the rewards between those levels. Reaching 99 can unlock a skill cape even when every level does not yet contain a unique new recipe.
Good levelling habits
- Upgrade tools before committing to a long gathering session.
- Use skill spells when several nodes are clustered together.
- Keep Runecrafting supplied so utility magic does not compete with combat at the worst moment.
- Process gathered materials instead of hoarding everything raw; several production steps train their own skills.
- Rotate activities when your next useful unlock sits in another skill.
