If your Dragonwilds save is corrupted or your progress has disappeared, update to the latest version and avoid unsupported recovery workarounds. Patch 1.0.0.6 prevents several causes of corruption, but Jagex says recovery work for saves that were already affected is still in progress.
What happened
A hotfix temporarily removed the Edit Appearance option while Jagex works on save recovery.
Patch 1.0.0.6 fixed an issue that let players leave the Edit Appearance menu before the character save had finished. Jagex describes this as preventative: it does not repair saves that are already affected.
The same patch fixed a PC issue where incorrectly named files could be accepted as character files. It also addressed some corrupted world saves that no longer appeared in the menu.
Patch 1.0.0.5 stopped console players from corrupting their saves by joining modded dedicated servers.
