RuneScape: Dragonwilds Current Version

What is live in Dragonwilds 0.12.1 and what Jagex has announced for the September 15, 2026 full and console launch.

Dragonwilds Hub currently targets version 0.12.1, released in late July 2026 as the final planned update before the Scorned Wilderness launch.

The game is playable now through Steam Early Access. Version 1.0 is not live yet as of this review; Jagex continues to list September 15, 2026 as the worldwide full-release date.

Live now

  • Umbral Sands, including Sunscorch, quicksand, three vaults, the Fight Cave, Fuzan, and the Nightmare Crucible.
  • Adamant tools and melee gear, Yew ranged equipment, Infinity robes, and Red Dragonhide armour.
  • Woodcutting and Mining progression populated through level 99.
  • Farming, Fishing, mounts, dedicated servers, Steam Achievements, and character re-customisation.
  • Dedicated-server worlds for as many as six players.
  • The health rework: Wardstones and Wardshield were removed; Constitution shrines increase total health and food restores health directly.
  • Agility, including six timed courses, passive running XP, Kebbit Burrow shortcuts, movement abilities, and carry-weight milestones.
  • The Great Body Robbery quest, with its club and buildable lightning-intercepting Pylon rewards.
  • Combat and quality-of-life changes including improved weapon swapping and a configurable hotwheel.

Announced, not treated as live

The Scorned Wilderness, Kuldra encounter, Rune armour, Black Dragonhide, Ancestral robes, and Dragon equipment are planned for September 15, 2026. Jagex has also announced full launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 for that date. Crossplay is explicitly confirmed for PC, PS5, and Xbox; see the console release FAQ for the Switch 2 caveat and other open questions.

Jagex has since confirmed Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, Epic Games Store, and Jagex Launcher availability. The standard price remains £24.99 or $29.99 after Early Access. See the Dragonwilds 1.0 guide for editions and launch preparation.

The Abyssal Whip rework is also announced for 1.0: existing Abyssal Whips convert into PL4 Abysmal Whips, while the true Masterwork Abyssal Whip moves to PL7.

Beyond version 1.0

Jagex says monthly updates will continue after launch. The next named major update is Luminance, planned for winter as a free update; fuller 2027 plans will follow after 1.0.
